About this deal

Floor Levellers & Preparation We offer a range of single & two-part flexible, reinforced and deep fill floor levellers, bulking concrete, primers and vapour suppressants for preparation of your subfloor prior to tiling or laying floor coverings. Again as with curing the same goes! To ensure the screed retains its strength and flexibility it must be allowed to dry naturally with no interference so don’t use any artificial drying and keep windows and doors closed. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines, including mix ratios, water content, and mixing methods. Add screed to the first section of your floor. Use your trowel to spread the screed 60 – 65cm down the length of this section.

Wearing safety goggles: This will protect your eyes from dust particles that may be released during the mixing and application of the screed. Furthermore, ensure that you do not have any evidence of rising damp due mainly to either damaged or non-existent damp proof membrane. If there is evidence of damp, the floor must be sealed with two coats of a liquid damp proofing resin such as Polycote DPM Primer. The first coat to give the initial seal. The second coat should be crossed rolled to ensure a complete seal. This second coat should then be broadcast completely with kiln dried sand to ensure the screed has a surface on which to adhere. AZL-EP SET-13 - Probst Part Number 5100089 - Screeding Rail Kit x 13m total length (Kit comprises 2 x 1.5m, 4 x 2.5m = Total of 13m) These optional height-adjustable roller units will take the working height from existing kerbstones, concrete pavers, or similar -This means no other rail gauges are necessary - A great time-saving accessory.Repeat this technique for the remaining timbers across the room area ensuring each is totally level itself and also to any timbers surrounding it. Once done your room should look similar to the image below. The Probst Easyplan EP-UNI-Set-90/230 is supplied with 2 Aluminium Profiles, one can screed 0.9m to 1.6m and the other from 1.6m up to 2.3m. In this DIY guide you will learn how to screed a floor using level timbers as guides and get a great flat and level finish. What is Floor Screed? Once you complete screeding your sand, remove the screed guides and use a trowel to fill in the spot where your screed guides were resting.

However, if you are brand new to laying floor screeds then it’s a good idea to lay out a level timber frame first and then you can fully concentrate on laying your mix screeds flat and level.Closing a screed surface effectively means running over it and closing up any pits or pours in the surface leaving you with a totally smooth finish. If it’s anything more significant than 3/8″, whether high or low, you want to either rake that down or add more 3/4″ of whatever your aggregate base material is to build that up. With those positioned and leveled widthwise and sloping in the direction of your slope, you can go ahead and place your sand and start dragging that across with your screed board. Step 2: Spread Sand Bedding Metex fully welded stainless steel & mild steel tripods are part of our range of screed & concrete levelling tools. They are used by screeders & groundworkers to achieve a level finish when pouring liquid screed and flowing concrete. This is a great question, and it’s so important to level your screed floor before leaving it to dry. There are two main methodologies followed: working up to the rail; and stripping rails prior to laying.
