About this deal

The price point of the GAIA lineup is not for the faint of heart or wallet. In fact, implementing a stereo set of GAIA isolators into your setup may end up costing you somewhere in the neighborhood of 5%-20% of your speaker's MSRP. I was looking to isolate my speakers from the hardwood floor to mitigate some of the physical vibrations that went into the room from my speakers without altering the sound—I did not want a solution that dampened or muddied the impact of lower frequencies. IsoAcoustics tested speakers on GAIA isolators and then the test was repeated with the speakers raised onto spikes using solenoids. The test was repeated yet again with the speaker base suspended by bungee cords. According to the controlled environment, variation in height was kept to within ¼” (less than ½ a wave length at 20 khz) when changing between spikes, GAIA’s or bungee. This setup allowed for the testing of each setup while keeping other variables consistent.

This makes the speakers disappear more or in some songs completely, very nice as before I was always aware of my speakers. I always want to get the closest possible to original live performance of the music coming out of the loudspeakers as I attend live concerts frequently. This is how I judge any audio equipment - how livelike it sounds ! Any extended warranties offered by Peter Tyson are free. We do not include any form of insurance terms such as accidental damage or loan equipment cover. The GAIA’s are threaded into the base of the speaker or subwoofer to replace the existing spikes or feet. Threading the GAIA’s into the base of the speaker creates a strong connection with the speaker. With the top of the GAIA housing connected with the speaker and the bottom of the GAIA connected to the supporting surface, all of the energy is then managed by the GAIA’s internal isolator. Gaia I Being honest if your subs are on carpet I'd suggest using spikes or even granite plinths with SVS feetbut if you have no issues at present then leave things as they are.Grammy Award-winning engineer/producer Eddie Kramer who has worked with Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones. The reality is that optimizing my speakers in my rooms is certainly some lifelong quest. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get to the ultimate destination, but the lessons learned along the journey can only enrich it. As the science behind speaker-room interactions continues to mature, we’ll learn new things, develop new tools, and adapt methodologies. The results showed that the vibration isolation the GAIA provided was similar to the isolation with bungee cords. The cabinet vibrations of the speakers isolated with GAIA and with bungee cords resulted in a reduction in cabinet vibrations through the introduction of an absorption layer that reduced secondary reflections.

To fine-tune speaker placement, tilt the speaker and put a cloth under the GAIA to slide them into any position. Fine-tuning speaker placement or moving the speakers was a breeze. Tipping the Salon2 a bit until the suction released from the floor allowed me to put a towel or rag under the GAIA. From there on out, I could move the Salon2 to play with positioning or move them out of the way for another speaker review. I didn’t need to be concerned about damaging my hardwood floor or going through different prophylactic gyrations. Install IsoAcoustics GAIAs, replacing whatever footers your speakers came with. In every instance I'm familiar with, the GAIAs produced a marked improvement in overall clarity…”AB31, AB32, AB33, AB34, AB35, AB36, AB37, AB38, AB41, AB42, AB43, AB44, AB45, AB46, AB47, AB48, AB49, AB50, AB51, AB52, AB53, AB54, AB55, AB56 For those of you in apartment complexes, I don’t want to give the misimpression that the GAIA are somehow your answer to stopping bass transference between rooms or apartments. That’s not what the GAIA will do. A cookie set by YouTube to measure bandwidth that determines whether the user gets the new or old player interface. It goes without saying that their products involve a patented isolation design and a proprietary isolation material. Among other products, IsoAcoustics also makes an Orea Series of isolation footers for devices that do not require a threading screw for placement under amps or DACS, etc, as well as an Aperta Series of isolation stands for bookshelf-sized speakers. I did not (in this review) experiment with any of those other products.

Beautifully constructed, super supportive and allow for the speaker to present itself with far more tactile freedom in bandwidth and allowing the frequencies to really breath, giving more insight, timbre and timing. In every instance the GAIA isolators improved the top to bottom performance of my two reference setups. IsoAcoustics has a growing list of OEM partners who are including IsoAcoustics isolation solutions as part of their products. Top end frequencies were also very pleased to receive some GAIA treatment; again the overall air and perceivable bandwidth was extended further to convey more realism and welcomed spatial awareness. Micro details were dynamically stronger and there was a more holographic presentation to boot. Leading edges were also more precise and the cleaner edges were coupled with great tonality and timbre – there is NO loss of body to the upper frequencies although the characteristics were of a cleaner nature. Everything was just more natural, precise and ultimately timed far better. The D7.2s are floorstanders, so the Gaia III simply replace the supplied spikes in the four corners of each loudspeaker’s base. The Classic 1/2s are large standmounts, so the Gaia III replace the spikes on the bottom of the stands. ISOAcoustics say this shouldn’t work as well given that the isolation feet are further from the loudspeaker being isolated. Thankfully, no one told the Classic 1/2. What was really unexpected was the sound produced from my PMC's once the Gaia's were fitted. Im talking a night and day difference. The PMC's deliver plenty of bass anyway but with the Giai's installed the bass notes are much more dynamic and punchy. In fact the overall sound the PMC's deliver now they are properly isolated from my floor is just superb. Wider , cleaner and clearer soundstage, with better seperation of instruments and vocals. I was expecting an improvement but not to this extent, even got the wife's seal of approval too which i srare. The first most noticeable difference for me when I finished installing the GAIA III was how much more"freer" the sound was from the speakers, the bass especially instantly stood out, far more insight and detailed. Bass extension was far better controlled and tighter with the upper regions being more defined and natural in presentation. My system is hardly lumpy or bloated, but a more explorative and msical nature came with seemingly more weight as the bass was almost able to breath more and felt so much less restrictive in how it interacted with me and my room.”
